CNET is reporting the MSFT is prepping a watermelon red Zune for later this summer.
The software maker is also expanding its palette of hues for the Zune. A baby pink Zune shade is set to debut early next month, while a watermelon red version is slated for summer.
A red Zune is a great move for Microsoft. I’m so sick of people telling me that the Zune can’t compete with the watermelon. Sure watermelons are tasty and fun to eat but they barely hold a hundred songs. Also they are a pain to haul around. Sure, It might be awesome for the first day or so, but then you’d realize that the audio quality is crap and and you look like a fool with your headphones plugged into a watermelon.
I’m not so sure about that color. How different is watermelon from pink?

Oh, how exciting! I’ve actually thought about purchasing another Zune and this would look great sitting in a dock keeping my white Zune company while they talk about things all day with each other.
