Who wants to win a Pink Zune?

26Apr07

That’s right I’ve got a Pink Zune and I’m giving it away.

pink zune

Over the past few months a few users have made the Zune blogging space pretty nasty. I’ve seen a lot of really nasty comments over at Zuneinsider, Zuneguy and Zunester. Some of the comments have been way over the line and I think that’s pretty sad. So here is the deal in the comments section of this post tell me about a nice comment you left on Zuneinsider, Zuneguy or Zunester. Anything will do but sincerity will get you extra points. You can enter as many times as you want… but each comment has to be unique. I will then go through ALL of the comments and find who submitted the nicest. That person will win the new limited edition Pink Zune and an even more limited edition I want a Pink Zune dot com T-Shirt. There will be three runners up. Each will get their very own I want a Pink Zune dot com T-Shirt.

So there you have it. Be nice and get free stuff. Go forth and be nice!

This giveaway runs until May 11th so you will have plenty of opportunities to be nice!

    Stefan, I love your blog!

I’m still crossing my fingers that I’ll win, but just in case I’d love if he shared where he found his, because I’ve been hearing that they’re still kind of hard to find.

You would think that a Pink Zune would be something that a guy just wouldn’t want. It’s pink. Well, I have the brown Zune, and I honestly think that it’s the coolest color on an MP3 player or any other hand held device that I’ve ever seen, and the more I see the Pink edition, the more I see just how snazzy it really is. So many websites and blogs have been bashing Zunes for months now, but all they offer as an alternative is an iPod. So many people complain about how Microsoft is so greedy and how they just want to rule the world (Well, who doesn’t?), but all I see on television are the, “Hi, I’m a MAC. Hi, I’m a PC…” commercials that SO do not even begin to explain to the common user as to what is really going on. Microsoft has forever been strictly in the business of software and OS’s. Apple on the other hand “Wants to rule the world” with their Desktops, Laptops, OS, MP3 players, Stereo systems, waffle makers, and mind control devices. All of there products with that simple “White” futuristic look… Well, the future is now, and the future is Microsoft. The future is here with the Zune. And, why not make it pink so my girlfriend will stop wanting to use my brown one???

I thanked Cesar for sending me Zune stickers and told David (Zunester) that the kind of cars he is looking at, he better buy a stick (don’t think that’s very nice, but that’s all I said). I bought a black Zune recently and love it. :D

  7. 7 Guvguy Posted April 26th, 2007 - 5:52 pm

All the various colors are pretty cool but I have a black one. Wouldn’t mind a pink one for the wife even though she doesn’t no the first thing about computers or MP3 players:) But, she does love music and what a way to learn some technology and enjoy music at the same time with a pink Zune. Get feeds from all the differnet sites and have learned a considerable amount. Good luck to everyone with the contest!

If only my girlfriend would buy her own zune and stop bugging me for mine.

Well, the more that I read about the zune, the more and more I want to get it. I’m a student in college and as most people first handedly experience, when you’re a college student, money is tight, especially if you’re paying for school on your own [like moi]. So I’ve been wanting a portable media player for some time now [mostly due to the fact that I have to save $$ for it, and I’m still nowhere close to it] and I’ve been trying to determine which is the better buy, the ipod or the zune. Both are really great devices, but to reiterate, I always find myself leaning more towards zune’s side. I do have to say that the unique user interface on the platform is something that far surpasses anything else that I have seen on any other portable media playing device. I like the way that you can truly personalize the device so that it can reflect your personality. Another pro is its capabilities of reading multiple forms of media; I like how you can put movies, music, and pictures. The ability to send things via wi-fi I feel is a great advantage that the zune has over the ipod. The only thing that could make the zune any better really is just increase storage space. Hopefully next generation zunes will hold 80 gig [or maybe 100gig! *crosses fingers*]. Regardless, I think the zune is a step forward in portable mulit-media devices; although first truly started by Apple, Microsoft has done a great job with creating something more than just an mp3 player.

Hmm, well I also thanked Cesar for sending me stickers, and for hand-addressing the envelope that they came in (a nice touch). And I was very nice in the email that I wrote to him requesting some Zune stickers. I’ll think of more.

I posted a comment a while back (April 10) at Zuneguy asking about any new speaker peripheals, and even used the word “nice.” How’s that for sharing the love?

  13. 13 adam Posted April 27th, 2007 - 11:54 am

What ever happened to being nice for nice’s sake? Don’t get me wrong, a pink Zune would be sweet, but I dont understand why people even bother to leave nasty comments on people’s websites. If you don’t like the site or the site’s subject matter, don’t go to the site!

  14. 14 lmd Posted April 27th, 2007 - 12:00 pm

    Those ipods I really hate

I posted a comment on ZuneInsider about the TunePower device for the Zune and how great a device idea it is. I also won a contest for leaving that exact comment. I think that is pretty cool, and nice. ;) This is where my comment is. http://www.cliczune.com/2007/04/belkins_tunepow.html#more

  17. 17 Matthew Posted April 27th, 2007 - 6:39 pm

The pinkyness of the zune is really quite sensible. I’ve seen a few photoshopped images of pink zunes, and they all have really strong pink colours. The silver and pink of the zune really go nice together. My younger sister would love a pink zune, because I just got my black one last week, had to ship it all the way over here to New zealand, since they aren’t released here yet. Thank you kind sir.

  18. 18 Will Posted April 27th, 2007 - 7:16 pm

I left a comment on the post that Cesar made informing us of the contests including this one.

“Wow, the Light Pink Zunes look stunning! Thanks a lot Cesar for providing these websites with the Pink Zunes so that we can get ahold of the limited editions. Really great and appreciating to have a Microsoft employee helping us Zuneless people out in possibly getting hold of a Zune. Stickers and the other prizes were great too, but this one is simply the bomb. :) Maybe I can win one for once!

Anyways, thanks for the update too. Wouldn’t have known that CrunchGear, IWAPZ, etc. was running the contest. ;) Now all we need is a Pink Zune giveaway right here at Zune Insider! XD”

Best of luck in a smooth giveaway and wish all the best for the others too in this generous summer-Christmas gift!

My upgrade went without a hitch! My Zune has been flawless since I bought it, so the 1.3 firmware wasn’t a big deal to me. However, it is nice to know that you guys are constantly making progress! Thanks so much for the upgrade!

  24. 24 Kevin Posted May 1st, 2007 - 4:31 pm

I sent this email to Cesar from ZuneInsider.com. It is ment for the whole Zune team though. Hope the get it!

    Dear Zune Team,

I am writing you today to thank you sincerely for making such a fantastic device. The Zune is by far the easiest and most innovated mp3 device on the market today. Since buying the Zune about a month ago, I have had nothing but a good experience with it. After having such a wonderful experience with the Zune, I believe a thank you is long overdue.

First of, I would like to thank you for the wonderful design and integration the device has. The double-shot effect makes the Zune the most attractive mp3 player I have seen. I love, especially, the large and beautifully bright screen the Zune has. I can see any movie or video I watch clearly and with ease. I also take a lot of joy in customizing my background and love to have that kind of control over my personal mp3 player. The look and straightforwardness of the Zune interface has continued to amaze and delight me since I first saw it. The flexible interface makes finding the next song or album I want to listen to, not only easy, but remarkably fun as well.

The main job of a media device, such as the Zune, is to play media of course. And I have to say that the Zune has the best sound quality I have ever heard. Combined with the Zune headphones, the sound comes out crystal clear. After experiencing music the way it is suppose to be on the Zune, I don’t think I could ever go to another media device.

ZuneInsider.com is a great blog and I compliment Cesar on his wonderful work to bring the inside scoop about Zune to the users. Of course, my compliments go out to everyone else who has worked on bringing the Zune to be what it is. Thanks so much for all the hard work so far and I hope to see the Zune grow even bigger in the future!

    Thanks so much again!

    Sincerely,
    Kevin

I love that box. Adult Swim is awesome. I watch them every night before I go to sleep.

I think it is so cool that the Zune partnered with adult swim for this. The Zune is just as cool and unique as adult swim is.

It would be cool if the Zune continued to partner with Adult Swim. :)

Yay, new firmware on the way! I’m so excited I think I’m gonna squirt… some songs… to my friend’s Zune…

So many people are serving up some hate on here today… but not me. I’m very satisfied with my Zune, and you and the team.

When I can afford to dual boot my Mac and get a Zune (which will prolly take me a while,) I’m gonna!”

Here’s my entry. I hope I win. I totally love the Zune and its potential to be so great with Vista…

    My Comment at ZuneInsider.com
    http://zuneinsider.com/archive/2007/04/27/you-go-win-a-pink-zune.aspx#7870

    My comment reads…
“Thanks for the head’s up on the many ways to win a Zune. I think Zunes are so much better than iPods, and I’d be much more excited about winning a Zune than if I were to win an iPod.

The screen is so much better on the zune. Even though the resolution is about the same on both devices, the zune’s screen is bigger and so you don’t have to squint as much. The Zune’s screen is also taller than it is wide, so you can see more of your lists without scrolling. The Screen is colorful and bright enough for outdoor use.

The entire interface is more colorful and visually satisfying than the iPod’s. Plus, you’re actually allowed to customize your device by selecting your own photo as the wallpaper or background for the device. An iPod cannot do that.

The Zune’s firmware is constantly being updated and thus I think the Zune has so much more potential of being more. I’m sure soon the Zune will support and play the recorded TV programs I’ve recorded using my Vista computer. Plus with Vista’s Sideshow feature, I’m sure eventually, the Zune could be made into a WIFI sideshow remote for my Media Center Computer. Speaking of WIFI, how awesome is that! And with more firmware updates, this feature is surely going to get even better!

    Here’s hoping I win one!!”

Wow, nice commercial. I can really see you guys took the suggestions we made (on forums) seriously. That was a great commercial. Not only was it cool and eye-catching, but it really showed of the Zune capabilities. The commercial made it very clear that this was a cool device in many colors, which can listen to radio, has a huge screen, could share media, and was beautiful among other features. The commercial was tastefully done, congrats!

Thanks for listening to our ideas, can’t wait to see the commercials to come!

Aw, Cesar, rumors are fun! I had figured that the image on the net was a photoshop (btw, you worded that sentence with perfect humor wording), but what about the speculation growing around ilounge.com? It’s a shame you can’t comment on it :(. Oh well, guess your just doing your job (and you do what you can the very best!).

As for the J. Allard thing, I think it is the funiest thing I have ever seen! I was wondering if this was going to come up here on Zuneinsider or not. But lol, he is your boss’ boss’ boss? That’s crazzy man!

Cesar, thanks for not commenting (and in so doing, commenting) on those latest rumors. As usual, I’ll wait for your official word before believing anything I read anywhere else. Besides, I’d like to think that beta Microsoft UI stuff for Zune would be a little cuter than what’s shown in those photos. As for J Allard, it’s nice to know that he’s a man of his word. I wish he were the boss of the boss of my boss! That would be boss :-)

Looking forward to today’s New Music Friday!

Wow, indeed. Here’s a random idea… how about a side-by-side feature comparison of Windows 3.0 (or 3.1) and Windows Vista? Similiar to the Mac/Windows or iPod/Zune comparisons of today. Should provide some visual perspective on just how far we’ve come.

I have to say that this new Zune ad “rocked”. If the message wasn’t already out, the message at the end of this ad (”music, video, pictures”) will definitely make sure people know that the zune is much more than a music player.

I haven’t been to Zune-arts since the Zune was first launched. Wow! There are a lot more great video shorts there now. I think some of the ads have a great different approach to them (i.e. your favorite “Endless Cookie”). Much different than the current Zune and iPod advertisements. I actually think they should maybe use some of these ads in their TV spots.

Thanks for the clearification Cesar. I wasn’t sure if the Zune arts had been older commercials or not.

Wow, New Music Friday, twenty second edition. Your dedication of bringing us Zune fans some free music is outstanding! I have found uncountable good bands and songs from you, through this. I hope to see this become the 100th edition some time. That would be so cool. Thanks for the link man, you feed my music hunger!

The Halo Zune is also awesome! I think it is great that you guys have decided to make different styles for different styles of people. I hope there will be more styles in the future! Personally, this particular style isn’t for me. It would be so cool of you made a style, some time that was like some design shooting from one of the bottom corners. White Zune background with the design being black and maybe a few other colors added in.

Well. That’s all for me. Thanks again Cesar for your continuing devotion to this blog and Zune users!
